I started One Big Planet in 2022 after falling in love with Africa a few years earlier.
Like many travelers, I wanted the freedom to design my own journey — choosing where to go, what to see, and how to experience it — without being limited by rigid itineraries or overpriced packages.
What I discovered was a gap. On one end, large agencies offered polished but inflexible experiences at a premium. On the other, local operators provided incredible value, but were often harder to find and navigate from abroad.
