10-Day Botswana Luxury Mobile Safari — From US$6,900 PP

10 Days Botswana Overlanding Safari Overview

Looking for a Botswana safari that feels adventurous and authentic without sacrificing comfort? This 10-day mobile safari takes you through Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai Community Concession and Savuti in Chobe National Park.

Instead of staying in one permanent lodge, you will travel with a fully serviced mobile-tented camp. While you spend the day exploring with your guide, the safari team moves and prepares the camp in your next wilderness location.

You will sleep in spacious en-suite tents with proper beds, flushing toilets and private bucket showers. Meals are prepared by a dedicated camp chef, and selected drinks, safari activities, park fees and professional guiding are included.

This tour is ideal for wildlife lovers, photographers, families with older children and travelers looking for a more immersive Botswana experience. The camp has a maximum capacity of 12 guests, creating a small and personal safari atmosphere.

One Big Planet will help coordinate the complete trip, including your international arrival, Botswana bush flights, safari arrangements and any extensions before or after the mobile safari.

Botswana Overlanding with One Big Planet

Arrive in Maun, the main gateway to the Okavango Delta. From Maun, take a scheduled bush flight to the airstrip serving your mobile camp in Moremi Game Reserve.

Your guide will meet you at the airstrip and introduce you to the safari experience as you travel through the reserve toward camp. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling into your tent.

After dinner, spend your first night surrounded by the sounds of the Botswana wilderness.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Lunch and dinner, depending on arrival time

Wake early for coffee or tea before beginning your first full safari day.

Moremi is known for its combination of open savannah, woodland, floodplains and permanent lagoons. These varied habitats support an exceptional range of animals and birdlife.

Your day may be divided into morning and afternoon game drives or arranged as a longer all-day wildlife drive with lunch in the bush. A boating activity may also be possible, depending on water levels and local conditions.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Spend another full day exploring Moremi with your guide.

Look for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelope and predators as you travel between dry woodland and wetter floodplain environments. Moremi is also one of Botswana’s most rewarding areas for birdwatching.

Your guide can adjust the day around wildlife movements, recent sightings and your personal interests. Travelers who want more photography or wildlife time may choose an extended game drive instead of returning to camp between activities.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Moremi contains forests, open savannah, seasonal floodplains and permanent lagoons, creating excellent conditions for wildlife and birding.

Leave Moremi in the morning and begin an all-day game drive toward the Khwai Community Concession.

While you travel with your guide, the safari team will move the mobile camp to Khwai. Stop for a freshly prepared lunch in the bush and continue watching for wildlife along the route.

Arrive at the new campsite in the late afternoon. Your familiar tent, camp team and dining area will already be waiting for you in a completely different wilderness setting.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, bush lunch and dinner

Explore the Khwai Community Concession, situated along the Khwai River north of Moremi.

The area combines riverfront scenery, grassland, woodland and seasonal pans. Wildlife moves freely between Khwai, Moremi and the surrounding protected areas, making it an excellent year-round safari destination.

Depending on conditions and the confirmed schedule, today may include game drives, a traditional mokoro excursion, a guided walking safari or an evening wildlife drive.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Enjoy another complete day in the Khwai area.

Choose a longer wildlife drive or divide the day between morning and afternoon activities. An evening drive may provide opportunities to see nocturnal animals that are rarely active during daylight hours.

A village visit may also be available, providing an introduction to the local community and its relationship with the surrounding conservation area.

Activities depend on water levels, weather, wildlife movements and operational conditions.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Khwai may offer game drives, evening drives, walking safaris, mokoro excursions, village visits and stargazing.

Depart Khwai and travel north toward Savuti in Chobe National Park.

The landscape gradually becomes drier and more open as you enter one of Botswana’s most famous big-game regions. Your journey remains an all-day wildlife experience while the safari team transports the camp to Savuti.

Stop for lunch in the bush before continuing to your final campsite. Arrive in the late afternoon and settle in for dinner beneath the Botswana night sky.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, bush lunch and dinner

Spend the day exploring the open plains and water sources of Savuti.

This remote section of Chobe National Park is known for big-game encounters and predator activity. Depending on the season, you may encounter elephants, lions, hyenas, antelope and many other species.

Your guide will select the route according to current wildlife conditions and recent sightings.

Accommodation: Luxury mobile-tented camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Enjoy your final full safari day in Savuti.

Continue searching for wildlife around the plains and waterholes. When conditions and timing permit, you may also visit ancient rock paintings in the hills and learn more about the human history of this remote landscape.

Return to camp for your final dinner and evening in the Botswana wilderness.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Savuti is known for its remote dry landscape, open plains, predators, large animals and ancient rock art.
